Your Heart From the Past

After thinking really hard about what sort of career would make me the happiest, I realized that the places that make me happiest are libraries and museums. Right now, I'm working on making something in those fields happen and taking some classes, so I'm creating a new balance.

i saw this outside my classroom the first day after lunar new year!

In the midst of all this, I discovered an old CD file containing mix CDs from my last two years of high school and I'm honestly so grateful for both finding them and making them in the first place. I usually put the date I created them on them, so it's like getting to listen to the heart of the person I was on that day. A few of the songs make me roll my eyes now, but I still know all the words to most of them, and it's so fun to sing along to them when stuck in traffic!

Hearing this song again on a night drive was amazing. I remember being awed at the lyrics "You're not obliged to swallow anything you despise" the first time I heard it, and hearing those words anew was just as poignant.

After I give those CDs more listens, I'll create some playlists based on them to share with y'all, and it'd be super cool to hear about the mix CDs y'all made in the past! Until then, I'll have a Valentine's playlist for y'all on Tuesday, and a review of my first book for the 2017 reading challenge sometime next week!
